Dr Gilete and team provide both distance and in-person evaluation of your spinal case. Imaging can either be sent to us for review or can be obtained with our imaging partners in Barcelona prior to your consultation. A case review, diagnosis, and possible surgical solution are discussed in a telemedicine or an in person consultation along with a report if requested.
We have native English speakers on staff to respond to your questions and assist you in making appointments. Should you come to Barcelona, one of our English, French, Spanish, Catalan, or Swedish speaking staff members will accompany you to your appointments.
Dr. Vicenç Gilete began his career as a neurosurgeon in 1996. He attended the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Barcelona, where he worked together with some of the most experienced surgeons in Barcelona and Europe. He then became the head surgeon and director of two surgical centers; Barcelona Spine Center and BISI Institute. As an instructor in minimally-invasive spinal surgery and as a Surgeon’s Trainer in minimally-invasive spine surgery techniques, Dr. Gilete provides courses educating other neurosurgeons in surgery techniques with less blood loss, reduced risk of muscle damage, and reduced risk of infection. He is currently the medical director of Promohealth SL where he diagnoses, consults, and performs corrective surgeries that provide hope to a complex yet neglected patient population.
With over 25 years of experience within the neurosurgical field, Dr. Gilete performs a variety of surgical procedures on the cranical, cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. These surgeries ranges from craniocervical fusion, complex cervical myelopathy intervention, Chiari decompression, Tethered Cord release or complex deformity cases, to more simple procedures like artificial disc replacement. Dr Gilete´s dedication to new technology and safety, as well as his attention and commitment to patients with rare conditions, has won the praise of both his peers and his patients.
