Scoliosis is the sideways curvature of the spine, in “C” or “S” shapes. It most often occurs in early adolescence. The cause of scoliosis in most cases is unknown but those with musculoskeletal or connective tissue disorders have a higher risk of this condition. Our experience with connective tissue disorders give us a unique perspective on patients dealing with scoliosis.
A full-spine x-ray anteroposterior (facing forward) and lateral (facing to the side) is used to diagnose scoliosis.
Most scoliosis cases do not require surgery and can be treated early with observation and bracing. However, in severe cases surgery may be offered to prevent the further progression of the debilitating curvature with the goal of improving mobility, physical appearance, and pain, while preventing potential effects to the surrounding organs.
Conventional surgical treatment for scoliosis entails rigid fusion of the affected spinal levels, thus immobilizing the spine in the fused levels. We are proud to be one of the few surgical centers in Europe offering a flexible surgical solution. Vertebral Body Tethering is a less-invasive surgical technique for scoliosis that allows for continued skeletal growth (making it ideal for adolescents) while maintaining movement in the affected area. The anterolateral approach also causes less muscle and tissue damage which means a quicker and safer recovery.

Prior to the consultation, you will receive a set of comprehensive questionnaires from which we will gather your personal information, your clinical history, and symptomology. You have the option to request a report from the visit.
Please use the form to here to below to contact us, if you already have obtained the imaging then please let us know and we will send you an email with a link to upload your imaging. After your imaging is uploaded, you will be sent a payment link and will be able to pick a date to schedule your evaluation. Please provide the following information:
