Dr. Vicenç Gilete – Neurosurgeon
With over 25 years of experience within the neurosurgical field, Dr. Gilete performs a variety of surgical procedures on the cranial, cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. These surgeries range from craniocervical fusion, complex cervical myelopathy intervention, Chiari decompression, Tethered Cord release or complex deformity cases, to more simple procedures like artificial disc replacement.
As an instructor in minimally-invasive spinal surgery and as a Surgeon’s Trainer in minimally-invasive spine surgery techniques, Dr. Gilete provides courses educating other neurosurgeons in surgery techniques with less blood loss, reduced risk of muscle damage, and reduced risk of infection. He is currently the medical director of Promohealth SL where he diagnoses, consults, and performs corrective surgeries that provide hope to a complex yet neglected patient population.
In his many years of practicing medicine and operating on complex cases, he has been introduced to a group of patients in Europe who suffer from what is known as connective tissue disorders. This can manifest in conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Marfans, and others. There is a major shortage in the world of specialists and especially surgeons serving these patients. Over the last 10 years, Dr. Gilete has become a specialist in diagnosing and treating patients with the spinal conditions that affect patients with connective tissue disorders.
Dr. Gilete’s dedication to new technology and safety, as well as his attention and commitment to patients with rare conditions, has won the praise of both his peers and his patients.
Dr. Augusto Covaro – Orthopedic Spinal Surgeon
Dr. Augusto Covaro is a renowned orthopedic spinal surgeon specializing in complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery. Trained at the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital in Barcelona, Dr. Covaro has completed specializations in spinal surgery in Denmark and Sweden.
Committed to medical excellence, Dr. Covaro is an active member of several international organizations, such as AOspine, GEER, and Eurospine, and has contributed to research in international scientific publications as well as training in different surgical techniques.
Dra. Marta Cincuendez – Neurosurgeon
Dra. Marta Cincuéndez is a neurosurgeon specialist focused on neuro-oncology and endoscopic skull base surgery, with special dedication to tumors of the pituitary region.
With her focus in minimally invasive techniques and microsurgery, she is dedicated to pathologies within the field of Functional Neurosurgery such as the management of trigeminal neuralgia and the treatment of neuropathic pain.
Dra. Natalia Juan – Internal Medicine Specialist
As an Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Natalia Juan’s expertise focuses on Infectious Diseases, holding an additional master’s degree in Antimicrobial Therapy Control. Her clinical work centers on complex diagnoses and infectious diseases treatment.
She contributes to our team with personalized antibiotic prophylaxis and MCAD treatment planning for complex surgical cases. Dr. Juan coordinates hospitalization and infection committees at Hospital Teknon.

Amy Hyde Smith – Institute Director
Amy comes to us from the United States and is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. As the Institute Director, Amy is in charge of our surgical cases. Keeping our team running smoothly, she supports our patient-centered care with patient screening and education.
Dra. Giovanna Tartaglini – Lead Researcher
Dr Giovanna Tartaglini is a native of Argentina and is fluent in Spanish and English. Having recently completed her medical studies, Giovovanna reviews scans, coordinates with our lab partners, and assists in patient care in the office and on the ward.
Additionally, she is compiling data and research to publish several scholarly articles on patient outcomes and our diagnostic protocol.
